History

Having lived in Kirigakure his whole life, Akio has grown attached to it. He knows it like the back of his hand and he feels comfortable there. Kirigakure was where Akio was born as were his parents. It was where they died, and most likely where he will. It was where he met his wife, and was where he witnessed her death.

Akio is and always was, "a good ninja". He passed all his exams as he should have and overall was a well-balanced fighter. His wife, Hikari, on the other hand was much more talented. She was a perfectionist, and also a couple years older than Akio. In fact, she was in the same classes as the current Mizukage, Kenji Hirohata. Maybe that was why she was always so competitive.

After passing his Jounin exams, he joined Kirigakure's ANBU division. It was there he and his wife fell in love. They were happy together until one faithful mission where Hikari was killed by a rouge member of the Yuki clan, Akio was heartbroken. He felt like a failure. Eventually he resigned from the ANBU division and became a hunter-nin. Maybe he'd run into her killer...

But, he didn't, but instead found Hiretsuna, a young girl who was sold to slavers and was living the life of a low-life thug. After a quick raid, he noticed her attempting to escape but was able to capture her with ease. He didn't think much of her... that is until she tried to stab him. He then saw something in her. Which is why he made her an official shinobi of Kirigakure and gave her some much needed training. To this day he keeps an eye on her.
